Westwind Glendale 9 is one of the few remaining old school drive-in theaters in America, and Arizona’s last true drive in theater in Scottsdale. The theater features nine large outdoor screens, playing recent Hollywood releases as well as family classics. Double features offer two movies for the price of one, and the theater has recently hosted triple features for the best bang for your buck. You’ll have to stay inside your vehicle at all times, but if you bring your truck you can make a cozy den with blankets in your truck bed. The snack bar has all your classic movie treats on offer, or you can bring your own snacks to enjoy. The West Wind Glendale 9 is located at 5605 N. 55th Avenue in Glendale, AZ, just 30 minutes away from Scottsdale.
Salt River Fields Drive-In
Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale’s McCormick Ranch is one the latest drive in theaters in Scottsdale to pop up in the area. The baseball stadium has transformed its Center Field Parking lot into a drive-in theater, showing movies on a large LED screen. The movies featured include a good mix of family-friendly flicks as well as 80s classics and recent releases. Entry fees are $25 per car instead of individual tickets, and concessions are available on site. Salt River Fields Drive-in is located at 7555 N Pima Rd.
Moonlight Movie Nights
Nothing’s better than dinner with a movie, especially when the movie is free! Moonlight Movie Nights in the Sonora Village shopping center reimburses the cost of your ticket when you grab takeout from Sonora Village restaurants. Movies are shown on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, making for a welcome weekend treat. Films range from date night picks to beloved classics. Admission is $15 per vehicle for two people and $20 per vehicle for three or four people. Moonlight Movie Nights is located at the Best Buy parking lot in Sonora Village at 15449 N Hayden Rd in Scottsdale.
