WonderSpaces Arizona

WonderSpaces Arizona is a multi-media art installation that engages the visitor in a visual journey through various exhibits provided by artists from around the world. Located inside Scottsdale Fashion Square, one of the largest and most popular shopping centers in the entire Phoenix area, the art will dazzle visitors of all ages. Moreover, the installations highlight more than what museums provide because these exhibits involve more than just a couple of senses or visualizing a two-dimensional artwork hanging on a wall.

The First Installations at Wonderspaces AZ

In total, there are thirteen exhibits, each one more impressive and grandiose than the next. To begin, artists Dan Goods & David Delgado present visitors with Experiment 2.C, a sensory experience unlike any other. Toby Dye then features his artwork in an installation called The Corridor, in which visitors are left astounded as four different films play on the walls simultaneously. Next, Nonotak Studio displays a depiction of infinite space through mirrors and light, while artist Candy Chang presents participatory art through her installation entitled Confessions. One of the most interesting exhibits includes the work called Akousmaflore by artists Gregory Lasserre and Anaïs met den Ancxt. This artwork is composed of living plants which produce a musical note when visitors touch them. With Submergence, artist collective Squidsoup makes visitors wonder with wild-eyed imagination as the more than 8,000 points of light twinkle and gleam as you walk.

The Second Installations

The following seven art installations at Wonderspaces Arizona are just as impressive as the aforementioned ones. To begin, the exhibit entitled Killing Time by artist Mesplé displays a polished skull that becomes filled with a viscous fluid every time someone approaches the artwork. Levitate by artist Everyware interprets gravity in a fun new way, and Old Friend by Tyler Hurd allows visitors to experience an equally enjoyable interactive 3D animated installation.

In line with participatory art, Soil by artists Rejane Cantoni & Leonardo Crescenti allow everyone to take a stroll on the catwalk. On a Human Scale by artist Matthew Matthew offers a chance to make music through technology, while Sewing Machine Orchestra by Martin Messier coaxes sound and fury out of these utilitarian machines. The final installation by Nicole Banowetz, entitled Erupture, highlights this artist’s ability with an inflatable sculpture that holds many secrets.
